"Yeah, you know me and my very high rock climbing standards," Beth agrees with a laugh as she takes the pack from him and loops it over her shoulder. "It comes with all the experience I've got."

He could probably show her a four foot high boulder and she would assume it was a good place to climb just because he said so. In this case, she definitely defaults to his knowledge on the matter.
