"Yeah," she says with a grin, pushing her hands under her thighs for a moment because if she lets herself, all she's going to do is pick up the kitten and start snuggling with her and that's supposed to be Daryl's job. "She's almost nine weeks old. I got her at the shelter. There was a whole bunch, but this one..."
The kitten yawns and stretches, then gets up and sniffs the blankets before she meows, surprisingly loud for such a tiny little body. She turns to look at Daryl and meows again, then walks up toward his face and butts her little head against his chin.
Still grinning, Beth watches them, then says, "I got all the stuff you'll need, too. Litter and food and toys and stuff."
