"So?" she asks, lifting her head again and replacing it with her hand, gently stroking her fingers against his skin. It's Christmas morning and they're lying in their bed. There's a kitten lying curled up on Daryl, her little chest rumbling with her purrs and although Beth has always tried to be positive, although she's always tried to make the best of any given situation, this is exceptional. It isn't always easy to be the ones who are here when there are so many of their people still back there, but Beth tries to remind herself that they don't deserve happiness less just because some of their people are missing.

They're all deserving. And this is something special.

"You can name her anything you want, even if it's a boy's name," she says, turning over onto her back and settling against his arm so she can look at the kitten. "If you like the name Anthony, that's what you should name her." She wants him to be happy. That's it. That's everything.
