"I didn't do it on purpose," she says, still laughing, but she sounds pleased with herself all the same. It's not the kind of thing she expected to ever hear from anyone, mostly due to the fact that she'd never given much thought to what it might be like to be in a relationship like this. It's different in so many ways and not only because Daryl is different, but because he doesn't look at her the same way most people have her whole life. She doesn't know when that happened or what really triggered it, but, looking back, she's pretty sure he's the only person who's made her feel capable.

He doesn't try to teach her things because he thinks she's weak or stupid, he teaches her because he knows she can do them.

She slips her arm around him under the blankets, her fingers sliding over his hip. "Besides, you could've stopped me any time."
