May. 5th, 2015 11:35 amOn the Downbeat looks pretty quiet when Beth heads inside mid-afternoon, her guitar case bumping against her hip as she goes. The store usually isn't too busy during the day, but she has a six-year-old girl coming in a little later for one of the lessons she's been arranging through the store and even if it isn't busy at least she knows she'll have something to do once school has let out and she gets her own little student.
It takes her a few minutes to get everything put away and she stows her guitar in her locker in the back before heading out to greet the customers. Not that there really are any, but no matter how weird things in Darrow have gotten, Beth is still doing her best to live as if things are completely normal. She knows they aren't. She knows it's possible at any time for her to end up leaving this city and going back to Georgia where everything is awful, but she doesn't want to live that way. So she prides herself on being on time for work, doing her job well, and being kind to the people who come into the store.
Especially when they're people she knows.
She smiles at the sight of Ree coming slowly through the door and gives her a wave. They're not close or anything, but Beth had quite liked talking to her and so she heads over, her hands clasped lightly behind her back.
"Hey," she says, still smiling brightly. "You wanna buy an instrument?"
